Why cant leeds be within (reasonable) walking distance of london?

I could have seen the cribs tonight, my dad had a spare ticket as my sister feels ill, buuuuut

i'm in leeds

and last minute travel isn't cheap

apart from on mega bus. BUT the only megabus would get me in at 9.45. far to late, i would miss EVERYTHING

AND

All the train tickets cos like £50 each. how fucking stupid is that??!
